During the recession period people are trying methods like anything and most hit sector is the service based sector – because the pricing of services are going down and people are offering more competitive rates. Few people that I know have now quit from this service based industry during this period and they have shifted themselves to product-based industry – good for them as they also need some profit to get a living out of it.
What’s Actually Needed
When its recession and deep recession there is no clue that what will work and what’s not and even every marketing plan thrashes – the only clue people have in their mind is to cut the rates and offer cheaper rates.
But is the cheaper rates only solution to bring your service sales back on track – I don’t think so – even I have written few days back that you don’t have to decrease your rates – you only need to offer value service.
Now, after surfing the Webmaster forums – I found that people are trying to offer their service not only for less but also sometimes without any charge – yes you read it right they offer their services for free.
This is totally insane - in order to get more from your service product you are offering few service-products for free. This is when market manipulators enter your offering and try to promise you that they have lots and lots of work and they need a free review copy. Truth is they don’t have anything to offer they only need to enjoy services for free.
In return you are depressed because if you are offering about 10sales for free than out of 10sales 5-7sales are from the same set of users that needs to enjoy service for free.
My Idea or Suggestion
I would not say that offering your service for free or less does not work at all – it works but most of the time it fails – so I would rather favor taking a less very less actual amount before offering your services for free.
Lets say; if you are offering a $20 service product and offering 5-free reviews then you should charge at least a minimum of $2-3 for reviews.
Why? Because by just charging this much amount you will come to know that you are getting confirmed user and this user will return to you if he likes your services – generally users who are here to enjoy free sales they don’t spend this much amount also – therefore it’s a best method to differentiate between users.
Moreover, the real confirmed users would definitely understand the value that you are offering to them of taking just $2-3 for a $20 fee service based product. This will protect your business – you and your growth.

When it comes to designing a website – a particular designer gives the whole lot of things and makes site look wonderful to human eye and his client and on the other hand makes some trick to reduce the work for himself – nothing harm in it every one does the same.
But when the client is required to have SEO version of his website it becomes difficult for the designer to take this into consideration. Therefore there are few options available, which can be looked if you are a designer or if you are the client who gives contract to design the site.
Things To Watch
When you are keen about getting the SEO version of your site then you need to take care of some basic things – you don’t have to be genius in programming languages but you need to take care of few things.
- Meta tags should be there – as when it’s a static site with no updates at all in very near future it is always good to have Meta-tags to give a defining statement of your website in search.
- No iFrames – even if you don’t know programming or HTML just view the source code of webpage by right clicking on it and search for iframe and if its there – remove it. iFrames are the real killer for the website in terms of SEO.
- Keep a Check – that the individual pages should have individual URLs. Best in terms of SEO.
There are few more things to watch but for the initial work you need to keep a check on these three only.

During recession period its most important of how you present your stuff that you are selling – because no one is ready to buy it on first occasion. But it’s also true that if you present your stuff nicely it will still penetrate the buyer’s mind to finally buy the product.
Therefore you need to take care of some stuff that is necessary when you are trying to sell a product of service – in my previous posts I have written about adding a value to the product during recession that helps in a better selling.
Necessary Points
You need to consider some of the following points when you are selling some product or subscription:
For Product
It is always advisable when you are selling your stuff in a slow economy that you cut down the prices – but I will rather suggest not cutting down but also giving some less if you have decreased the amount of your sale.
Then after the sale you need to present with the extension product, which is actually your main product, but you are not selling it on first instance you are just selling the customer a part of it – therefore if customer likes the product – they will definitely go for the full version.
The benefit will be on both the sides your sales will be boosted and customer is also given a value and also an option to accept the next version.
For Subscription
You only need to give stress on the bundle selling when you are selling your stuff during the recession because bundled stuff is always good as it clears your stock and customer is also given an advantage to buy more and pay less.
Also as it’s the subscription product so customer can pay partly and enjoy the whole range of products.
Conclude
The only thing you need to keep in mind when you are selling that you not only have to give your product for less but also add some more stuff to the same. And give customer the freedom to pay you on month-on-month basis.

I wanted to write this from long time but due to my nature that whatever I blogged about I first test it on myself and after the success or failure then I write it down. Now as the finance and economy is on melt – there are still some extra courageous people who want to start a new venture and there is no harm in it also – you need to be always looking ahead when it comes to business.
For all those people – I have some suggestions which I have tested on multiple occasions and it worked right on every.
You need to prepare a report of your business idea when you are meeting with the financers – I hope every one does this, as it’s the basic requirements.
Now, when you prepare your project report you need to take care of the following in order to make financers interested in your project.
- The report should not cover every aspect of the business idea.
- It should also not have the exact values – and when I say the exact values I am pointing towards the expenses.
- Your report must focus on the profit and profit margin.
- How you can achieve it – and what is actually needed for it to achieve.
- The first part of your report should always focus on the kind of profit your business idea is going to make.
As profit is something which actually decides your project fate with the financer – because if you will show the expense list at the beginning then the financer’s interest is somewhat shifted – so first talk about the profit and how you can make it.
Conclude
The points I have described above is 100% tried and tested and it has worked on every occasion – therefore by twisting your report slightly and making it attractive is necessary if you are really passionate about your business idea.

Whether you are pro or a new blogger you are bound to have it that you are traveling and then you cannot write – and some times you don’t have internet access if you have mobile computing with you – but with some of good persons listening to all this have made a custom in wordpress which actually allows you to post when you are not even online or not even typing the report.
Am I Bluffing
Seriously speaking no! I am not – as wordpress gives you the freedom to type the post when you are not online or have not written the post – with the feature of time-stamp present in the wordpress you can now control the blogging at your own pace.
You can write at least 5-10 posts each for a day and then insert in to the wordpress but with the time-stamp – so that wordpress automatically posts all your posts on the time when you have specified it to do.
Benefits
You have your own freedom – and you are not bound to have it written when you are traveling or commuting quickly.
This can also work when you are over-flown with ideas and then as I have always written that it is not recommended to over feed your readers with the stuff – so for all those guys you can now have wordpress timestamp and with the help of that you can have proper interval between posts.
This is the easiest of ways to organize your blog efficiently and properly.
