Cranky cookies

Cookies are one of those irritating facts of life on the Internet. Users want web sites tailored to them, and cookies are one way companies have found to do that. When users enter the site and customize some feature of it, a small piece of code — the cookie — is placed on the user’s hard drive.

Then, when the user returns to the site in the future, that cookie can be accessed, and the user’s preferences executed.

When cookies work properly, they’re an excellent tool for web designers. When they don’t work as they should, the problems begin. So what constitutes a problem? The main issue with cookies is that some browsers allow users to set how cookies will be delivered to them. And some source code prompts the user to be asked before a cookie is accepted.

When this happens, the search engine crawler is effectively stopped in its tracks, and it doesn’t pick back up where it stopped once the cookies are delivered. Also, any navigation that requires cookies will cause the crawler to be unable to index the pages.

How do you overcome this issue? The only answer is to code cookies to ensure that the source code is not designed to query the user before the cookie is delivered.

Method to Move Database - Files to New Server

My lot of clients faced this problem and recently I have been come across with multiple queries on my messenger that how to shift website’s Mysql database, as all databases have grown and if not grown they are still much to shift.

But as I always said there is a solution for every problem. So here is a simple solution to the issue.

The Solution
Whenever you are required to shift website to other server. First of all take the complete backup of the site or take the individual backups of the sections.

Like for example: If you have three sections in your site, then your home directory backup is the one that you have to take to copy all the files present in “public_html” folder (I am talking for Linux- Cpanel here).

Then you can take the individual backups of databases of the three sections that you have. The “Backup” option is available in the Cpanel.

Then, you are required to go to new server where you want to shift and again open the “Backup” option in new server’s Cpanel. There you will find upload option for uploading the home directory and databases.

Browse your “Backup” files which you have download from old server and stored in your computer.

Its Not Over Till Now
This seems to be very easy and error free method to take backups and upload them. With this option you can upload as much big database as you want to upload.

But you will have to create the username and password for the databases, which you have uploaded to new server, as this is not done automatically.

Therefore the simple method you can apply to shift your site to other server. Without any issue of missing files and database not getting installed.

Easy Moneybookers Verification Method

I recently have opened moneybookers account but like paypal it isn’t showed unverified at any place, like in paypal you are shown unverified on the front page of your account. So, I was not sure how to deal with it. After reading some stuff available in the account of moneybookers I understood how to do it.

How to Verify
Unlike paypal if you want to verify your moneybookers account you don’t need to have credit card you can well do it with the bank account you have and for the address verification they do have the provision they send you the verification code to your mentioned postal address and you can write that code to verify the address.

It is not like that they don’t do credit card verification all the above-mentioned tasks would not be necessary if you do it with your credit card.

Easy Way to Go with Bank Verification
As in other similar payment processors you are charged for doing a verification from your credit card but in moneybookers you are paid for doing so, yes its true! You are paid for verification. The method is that you have to press the withdraw button and enter your bank “swift code” and then your bank account number and then you can withdraw some amount say $20.

Now, when the money reaches you bank account, in the transaction summary of the moneybookers slip, you get a 6-digit alphanumeric code, which you can use to verify your bank account. It’s very simple to do and it can be done with 3-4 working days.

Verification for Once
I was impressed by the way moneybookers wrote in the account that they do verification for once, and you are never ever asked for other verification methods or re-submission of verification documents.

Don’t Know The Issue
Despite the benefits of easy verification I can’t figure out why the moneybookers is not so popular among users.
